ABOUT BUSINESS BUILDER
Business Builder is a virtual one-on-one matchmaking event designed to strengthen the Los Angeles 5-county regional economy by connecting small minority-, women-, and disabled veteran-owned small business subcontractors to prime contractors and procurement opportunities.

Sub Contractors
Register early to claim one of the limited Matchmaking spots. Meet Primes one-on-one to pitch your business in the Matchmaking sessions, or interact with them on the virtual Exhibit Hall floor. Attend a mandatory pre-meeting 90-minute prep session to ensure you put your best foot forward. Small businesses must be from the 5-County Area (Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.) Attendance to the 90-minute small business prep session gives eligibility for free, one-on-one technical assistance.
Prime Contractors & OEMs
Book your booth in the virtual Exhibit Hall and your Matchmaking table for pre-screened one-on-one sessions with Subcontractors and Suppliers. Additional sponsorship, workshop and speaking opportunities are available.
Matchmaking Sessions
We match Subcontractors and Primes for 15 minute one-on-one sessions based on the company profiles you build on Business Builder's registration site. Subcontractors must attend a 90 minute pre-event prep session to ensure they are ready to put their best foot forward in the scheduled one-on-one meetings with Primes. Deadline to participate in the one-on-one Matchmaking appointments as a prime/buyer or a sub/seller ends April 20th.
Upcoming Large Bid Review
Representatives from the City, County, the 2028 Olympics, the World Cup, and NCAA will present bid opportunities in the Plenary Session awaiting Primes and Subcontractors in LA County.

The Billups Group
Robin Billups is bringing her expertise and curriculum to the Best Foot Forward Small Business Workshops that meet before the event to insure small businesses make the most with their meetings with Primes.

John L. Reamer, Jr. has been the Inspector of Public Works, Director of the Bureau of Contract Administration since August 2004. The Bureau, one of five operating Bureaus in the City of Los Angeles' Department of Public Works, protects the City's interest through serving as an independent quality control and contract compliance agency.
As the City's Inspector of Public Works, Mr. Reamer ensures safe and quality public works construction for all work performed in the City's Public Right-of-Way. Initiative for Inclusive Small Business
Forged by data and strong partnerships, the Los Angeles County Initiative for Inclusive Small Business (IISB) is taking immediate steps to respond to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the region’s small business ecosystem based on the Los Angeles County Small Business Ecosystem Assessment conducted in 2020. Following a community-driven process with more than 45 small business and community leaders, the assessment proposed a path forward to address historical barriers limiting access to entrepreneurial opportunities for business owners of color, and respond to the ongoing economic crisis. With a dual focus on the increasing access to capital and critical capacity building for small business, the initiative is being coordinated by Lendistry, The Center by Lendistry, Concerned Capital, and local stakeholders in Los Angeles County, with support from national partners, Next Street and Community Allies.
